In honor of Halloween, we're featuring a unique set of watercolors from Sakura Koi, featuring metallic and fluorescent hues of watercolor with a skull as our spotlight painting. Their brand also has Studio Sets for at-home work, as well as Sketch Boxes for more portable work - I highly recommend checking them out.

Out of the neon colors the blue could use some extra "pop", but it's highly granulating properties more than make up for it. I would trade the middle two pink and purple hues for a bright red and perhaps green-leaning hue, respectfully.

Their metallics pick-up well and show nicely when wet, but thicker application is recommended for better coverage.

A drawback I personally find with these paints is when they are fully saturated with water, the binders become too prominent and will result in somewhat patchy coverage. However, the brand overall is very affordable and good quality if you're just starting out. I also highly suggest getting their 12 color pocket field sketcher box to assist learning color theory and concepts.
