Prima Watercolor Confections, recently renamed Art Philosophy has multiple palettes available. Their entire series of palettes include: Odyssey, Terrain, Vintage Pastel, Complexion, Essence, Woodlands, Currents, Decadent Pies, Pastel Dreams, Shimmering Lights, Tropical, and The Classics. As much as I wish I had the chance to try out and play with all of said palettes, we will be highlighting the last mentioned - The Classics.
The metal palette opens to provide large and small mixing areas for washes and details respectively. Between the two rows of pans there is enough space to squeeze in a brush and pencil for ease of use during travel. Finally the palette has a metal thumb ring for extra support when held; it's great for left and right handers (lefties, I'm with you).
Although the colors provided are vibrant, as the swatches indicate - they can create muddy and muted mixes, which can go either way depending on your preference. As seen in the painting provided, ours confidently prefers muted hues. We talked a lot about contrast in our previous posts, and we can apply this concept with color as well: if everything is vibrant, nothing is. As we mute the green leaves with some pink or red, those yellow and pink flowers really start to pop and stand out.

Happy painting,
Viktoria
