Daniel Smith is one of the most recognizable and highly regarded brand of paints, they take close care in the watercolors they produce - from ground natural pigments to hand poured pans. These high quality paints work with you and have many textures to choose from - from smooth to granulating and a myriad of colors to work with - including artists sets.

Whether the aim is to paint botanicals, landscapes, urban scenes, animals, portraits – or any other subject – this set of fifteen colours will enable you to mix all the colours that you need. The fifteen colours used in this palette showcase the many characteristics of watercolor; some are transparent, some are opaque, some semi-transparent, some staining and some granulating. Some have two or even three of these characteristics. They are also largely single pigment colours, and they are carefully chosen to intermix, creating a world of colors. Importantly, they are all reliable pigments with a lightfast rating of I or II for watercolor.” – Jane Blundell.

15 colors are as follows: buff titanium, Hansa yellow medium, quinacridone gold, pyrrol scarlet, permanent alizarin crimson, quinacridone rose, ultramarine blue, cerulean blue chromium, phthalo blue (green shade), phthalo blue (blue shade), goethite (brown ochre), burnt sienna, Indian red, raw umber, and Jane's grey.

Followed by swatches of the nine primary leaning colors, omitting earth tones; and a painting to showcase interactions between colors.

The hues work together beautifully, whether that be a pastel pink, neon yellow, or muted green; we can see their properties in action. The quality of these beautiful watercolors have their price, but if you're an experienced watercolorist, or are ready to up your game, they are very much worth it.
